Meet Chris Winton, our Morning of Hope 2021 speaker!

In 2008, we came together for breakfast, fellowship and to discuss the successes of our organization. Now, 13 years later, our Morning of Hope Breakfast is one of our favorite events as we get to commune with you, celebrate all of the blessings the Lord bestowed upon us over the past year and look forward to what’s to come.

As we prepare for our Weekend of Hope, including our 26th Annual Golf Scramble, we feel it’s time to formally introduce you to our Morning of Hope speaker, Chris Winton!

Chris began his journey at FedEx more than 20 years ago as an IT intern. His hard work and commitment earned him the role of director of IT operations before transitioning to the human resources department. Once there, he assumed his current position as FedEx Ground’s senior vice president of human resources. It is through this role that Chris provides strategic direction to recruit, develop and retain a talented and diverse workplace. 

Additionally, Chris has worked with two White House administrations to create employment pathways for underserved communities. He was recently named a Memphis Business Journal “Top 40 Under 40” award recipient for his work in workforce development and was honored with HRO Today’s Cream of the Crop award for his work with companies like Google to leverage AI and machine-learning to help job seekers find roles specifically tailored to their needs.

Chris knows the value of hard work when given the right opportunity, which makes him the perfect speaker for this year’s breakfast. Chris’ partnership has proved invaluable as he continues the fight for equal opportunities, representation and further workforce development in our city and beyond. We’re honored to call him a friend of our organization.
