HopeWorks Golf Benefit A Success

The 16th Annual HopeWorks golf benefit was a great success on September 14, 2012.  The weather was outstanding and the Mirimichi golf course was incredible.  About 90 golfers joined us for the event. The feedback we got was how everyone enjoyed the day and appreciated being able to support the HopeWorks Personal and Career Development classes this fall.  We had many financial supporters that made this event the best one in our history. Internships to Begin October 30

After weeks of learning and searching through different career choices, the students from the Fall PCD class will begin their internships on Tuesday, October 30th. Students will work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for 6 weeks; their hours will vary depending on the internship provider. They will continue to be in class on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  An on-the-job experience is a valuable asset provided by these internships. Students can use this experience in their job search after graduation.

Alumni Meetings on October 29 and 31

HopeWorks will hold two alumni meetings at the end of October to listen to the issues that concern our alumni. Tara Albright, Alumni Coordinator, found that they are interested in jobs fairs, housing programs, budgeting and finance, foreign languages, and how to handle job conflict. We are excited to use this platform to continue to serve our alumni.

HopeWorks Golf Scramble Set for Sept. 14

On Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, HopeWorks will host its 16th annual 18-hole Golf Scramble at Mirimichi. The fundraising golf scramble will tee off at 8 a.m. After finishing a round of golf, participants will enjoy a delicious lunch at the club house. There will be prizes for three flights and proximity gifts! HopeWorks students are unemployed adult individuals, who are motivated to make personal, spiritual and career changes in their lives.
