Mentorship Program

I know if I didn’t have a mentor, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Elliot Perry, Memphis State University Basketball player and previous A Morning of Hope speaker

Few things in life transform hearts and futures like mentorship. Becoming a HopeWorks mentor grants you the opportunity to directly impact a student’s life in a meaningful way. Our mentors find, more often than not, that they learn just as much from their mentee as the mentee learns from them. Walking alongside someone you might not have met otherwise is a beautiful way to build community, cultivate empathy and demonstrate the love of Christ.

Our mentorship programming comes in two forms: Faith Encouragers and Prison Ministry Faith Encouragers. Learn more about these unique opportunities below.

Faith Encouragers

Faith Encouragers support and care for students as they learn new job skills, finish educational training and are challenged to live Christ-centered lives. If you choose to partner with us as a Faith Encourager, you’ll be assigned to a specific student and spend one lunch per week eating with them at a HopeWorks facility. After your student graduates, you have the option to transition to a “Work Encourager,” supporting your student as they migrate into the workforce.

Prison Ministry

HopeWorks has an active presence in several prisons and jails throughout West Tennessee. Members of our staff regularly visit to provide encouragement and assist with worship services.
