Did you know all HopeWorks students have access to our team of case managers? No matter your story, life can be difficult – especially as you’re working to overcome the obstacles and hurdles that stand between you and your dreams. Our case management team is committed to helping you identify and overcome your barriers!
What is a case manager and what do they do?
Case managers play a crucial role in connecting clients with the social services they need. They act as the liaison between you and organizations, businesses or professionals that provide solutions to get back or stay on track.
First, a case manager will listen to your story and ask you a few questions about your life goals and dreams. You’ll spend some time discussing the current barriers and challenges you face and help you develop a plan to overcome them. Together, you’ll establish a road map to success and determine what next steps you should take.
As a HopeWorks student, you’re entitled to the professional services our case managers offer. This includes:
- Reinstating essential documents (like driver’s licenses, Social Security cards and much more).
- Referrals to HopeWorks’ Workforce team for employment assistance.
- Referrals for community resources service.
- Transportation support.
- Housing assistance.
- Referrals to mental health counseling.
Why are case management professionals helpful for employers?
If you’re an employer in Shelby County, you want your employees to connect with our case management team. When employees have access to tools and resources that alleviate challenges they face in daily life, a burden is lifted off their shoulders. Some of the benefits are tangible to the workforce – like reliable transportation leading to more consistent attendance. Others are felt through workplace interactions – like the emotional regulation strategies that an employee learns through mental health counseling. No matter which services your employees access through our Case Management program, you’ll feel a difference as an employer.
HopeWorks case managers are helping hands ready to guide you to your future! If you’d like to speak with one of our case managers, please call 901-272-3700.
