What will you learn in HopeWorks’ Employment Essentials course?
Are you looking for a new career? Want to improve upon your workforce skills and experience? Check out our Employment Essentials course!
During this eight-session program, you’ll:
- Discuss your interests with our team of compassionate professionals to determine which career path is right for you.
- Work with our workforce team to develop your resume and search for new potential jobs.
- Partner with a case manager to help you assess and address any needs that could hinder you from getting to work regularly. Your case manager can help you create solutions for reliable transportation, child care, housing and other needs.
- Build relationships with top employers who offer fair wages and growth opportunities.
Each of the eight classes is three hours long and meets in person at our Summer Avenue location. You’ll work through our specialized professional development curriculum and go home with some follow-up assignments. All homework is designed to enhance what you learned in class and can easily and conveniently be submitted through Google Classroom. The best part? Employment Essentials is entirely free, and all supplies are provided.
In addition to traditional job placement assistance, our team works with you to identify your interests, abilities, strengths and weaknesses, work values and more to help you determine which career path is the best fit for you. We know that when a person finds their career niche, they’re happier in all phases of their life and are more likely to progress in the field. Individualized care is an important part of our programming!
After we help you shape career opportunities, we’ll work with you on skills that will put you in the position to succeed at work. This includes meeting and exceeding employer expectations, practicing interviewing with potential employers, further developing your communication skills and emotional management for on-the-job conflict resolution, and participating in character development activities and discussions.
At the end of Employment Essentials, you’ll feel confident in your abilities and ready to take on the workforce! If you’re interested in learning more about this program or would like to apply, complete this form today or give us a call at 901-272-3700.
